New Zealand National Jaguar Rally 2024

It's hard to believe that in just over 6 months we will all be attending the 15th National Jaguar Rally. We are encouraged by the number of registrations received to date. We appreciate that there will be further adjustments - both up and down - between now and the event but on the basis of current registration levels this may be the largest national rally for some years.

Given the level of new registrations we feel it wise to recap everything as those who have just registered may have missed out on earlier newsletters. Our apologies should this be boring to others.

The 15th Jaguar National Rally is to be held in Christchurch over the Easter Weekend March 29th - 31st, 2023.

Venue:

Airforce Museum of New Zealand, Wigram, Christchurch. This promises to be an exciting venue as it enables us to hold our functions and place displays amid the fabulous exhibits of aviation history in New Zealand.

Accommodation:

The downside of the museum is that it is not located in close proximity to hotels, motels etc. There are a few but in most cases accommodation will be some distance away. Earlier we provided clubs with recommended accommodation and most clubs made arrangements early on. Accommodation is the responsibility of clubs / individuals.

Price:

The cost of registration is $450.00 per person. We have made every endeavour to reduce these costs but in today's environment of rapidly rising costs this has proven impossible.

Inter-Island Travel:

Endeavours were made seeking discounts on ferry travel. Sadly, these were unsuccessful. Given the issues currently affecting inter-island travel - weather, mechanical problems, ships off being serviced etc.- demand has built up and companies are struggling to meet commitments. It was our advice that clubs / individuals make inter-island booking immediately to ensure their place.

We have also registered with KiwiRail New Zealand and are negotiating a discounted Ferry crossing within the Inter-Islander Ferries. We will advise this as it is sorted and put in place.

Programme:

Friday 29th March.

4.00pm - 6.00pm Registration at the venue.

6.00pm - 7.00pm Pre-dinner drinks / getting to know each other

7.00pm - 10.00pm Welcome dinner - dress theme "in the colours of your province"

Saturday 30th March.

8.00am - 9.00am Setting up for public display and concours - if displaying your

vehicle you will need to be at the venue from 8.00am. Coffee

and food carts will be on site from 8.00am.

9.00am - 1.00pm Public display and concours judging. In the next newsletter you

will be asked to advise if you are entering concours. The

concours rules can be emailed to you if you contact Ken Winsloe.

1.30pm - 4.00pm Breakout sessions (3) on topics of interest to all.

We will provide greater detail about the 3 speakers once

finalised. These breakout sessions are optional.

4.00pm - 4.30pm Representatives from all clubs to decide upon host for the 16th

Jaguar National Rally

4.00pm - 6.30pm Free time

6.30pm - 7.30pm Pre-dinner drinks at the venue.

7.30pm - 11.30pm Dinner dance
